who is DrNPJ?Dr. Nathalie P. Jones, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work at Tarleton State University. She graduated from Tarleton State University in 2001 and was a letterman on the Women's Basketball team (99-00), graduated from Barry University in 2008 and Capella University in 2014.
Dr. Jones has many roles that consists of woman of faith, mom, wife, mentor and more. She has dedicated her life to encouraging, empowering and educating black women in many capacities. Her research Interest include: Healthy Aging, The Impact of Community for Black Women in Higher Ed and Culturally Responsive Teaching. Dr. Jones has co-authored books including: Developing Professional Skills for Community Engaged Learning: Student Workbook, Educator's Guide For Developing Professional Skills For Community Engaged Learning and an Author of Diversity God's Way, "LIFE" Journal and a co-author of Walk in Your Purpose. She is the Chief Executive Officer of Sisters In Higher Education, a professional development community designed for black women who are employed within the Higher Education System. Dr. Jones also founded Working Women United, Inc. which is a non-profit organization that provides supportive care to college, senior and adult women that reside in unfortunate living situations. She also founded Passion for LIFE (PFL), a relationship coaching practice that teaches behavioral skills of Healthy Relationships. She is also Co-founder with her husband of the Keller Texans Basketball youth program. Dr. Jones is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc, Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and on the Advisory Board member of the Women's Mentoring Network of Tarleton State University and husITa (human services Information Technology association) International Board. She is the chair of the technology in the department of social work. She is on the review board for the Journal of Behavioral and Social Sciences and a member of the Athletic, Professional Development, Distance Learning Advisory & QEP Committee. Dr. Jones was a member of the Inaugural Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL) Cohort, the Inaugural Engaged Scholars Academy and the Inaugural Faculty Fellow for the College of Health Sciences & Human Services. She is a member of the Betty Doggett Scholarship Review Committee, Reviewer of IHeartTech, the Institute for Healthy Engagement and Resilience with Technology and on the General Education and Assessment Committee at Tarleton State University. Dr. Jones's hobbies include: Working on her health and wellness. Most recently she became a representative of Juice Plus, LLC. She loves spending time with family, listening to music, working with women, networking, discussing relationships, finances and meeting new people. She resides in Ft. Worth,TX with her husband and children. Mantra: prayer, positivity & perseverance are the keys to success. |
